The gift of learning

We have finally got everything together here at SWAGE and have kicked off our first classes. When starting out we never would have realised what a diverse bunch of people we would meet. In our first knife making class we met Maurie who enthusiastically arrived 40 minutes early from Pyes Pa, Debora from Germany, Gloria from up the road and Greg whose wife booked him in to get him out of the house we suspect. 

Alongside the laughs and learning we had an awesome day and produced four great looking knives all as distinct and unique as their creators. What surprised me most however was the newfound comradery these four strangers had at the end of the day from the shared experience. Maurie called me a few days later to ask about suitable oil for his knife and he let slip he was a bit “buggered” after the day but that was probably to be expected as he is 80!!

Such a great effort and just one of the reasons to get out there and try something new.
